Fiona Crean, Ombudsman was appointed in November 2008 by the Toronto City Council as Toronto's first Ombudsman. The office began to offer services on April 6, 2009. Ms. Crean brings to this position decades of professional experience dedicated to fairness in government, human rights and social justice. Tracy Cho-Yee, Administrative Assistant, brings over 15 years combined experience in executive support and as a human resources generalist. She has held various roles in the private sector; most recently in HR with the largest stock exchange in the country and prior to that she supported the CEO of a Canadian media and publishing company.

Kwame Addo, Director of Investigations and Conflict Resolution, brings more than 18 years of complaint resolution experience as an investigator at Ombudsman Ontario. Trained as a biologist, he initially investigated complaints about the Ministries of Natural Resources, Environment and Ontario Hydro. More recently, Kwame led several systemic investigations, including the Special Investigations Unit and Newborn Screening.

Marie Chen, Legal Adviser and Senior Investigator, is a lawyer with considerable experience in administrative and anti-discrimination law at appellate courts and administrative tribunals. She worked for many years as a community legal clinic lawyer conducting test case litigation in systemic racism, human rights and equality rights. Prior to that, she practiced immigration and refugee law for over eight years.

Jackie Correia, Intake Assistant, has over 20 years invested in Ombudsman-related experience. Beginning her career in the photocopy room at Ontario's Ombudsman Office, she built her knowledge of record keeping standards and became a Records Archive Technician. She was on the Records Council, helping to establish the first electronic guidelines for the Ontario Public Service. She also negotiated the first collective agreement at Ontario's Ombudsman Office and also worked as a Client Access Representative.

Zalina Deodat, Intake Assistant, has extensive experience in complaints resolution in a variety of intake roles, including the management of a complaints call centre in 2005-2006.

Deb Wharton, Senior Adviser, Policy and Planning, has worked for the City of Toronto for 18 years in Public Health, with a focus on community outreach, economic development and nine years as a program manager in Public Health Inspections.

Karen Fulcher, Access and Education Assistant, has a unique combination of communications and front line social services experience. With post secondary education in psychology and publishing, she brings complementary skills gained nationally and internationally: community outreach and education,
website writing, social media marketing, event management, graphic design, editing and writing, and English as a Second Language curriculum development.
